The War in Israel and Gaza: Constructive Campus Conversations
Tuesday, December 12, 2023, 3-4pm EST
Virtual, on Zoom
This forum invites Dean Amaney Jamal of the School of Public and International Affairs and the Edwards S. Sanford Professor of Politics at Princeton University; Dean Keren Yarhi-Milo of the School of International and Public Affairs and the Adlai E. Stevenson Professor of International Relations at Columbia University; and Hina Shamsi, Director of the National Security Project at the American Civil Liberties Union to join Professor Shibley Telhami, the Anwar Sadat Professor for Peace and Development on a discussion on how the war in Israel and Gaza has impacted campuses across the country.
Dean Jamal and Dean Yarhi-Milo co-authored an article in the New York Times last month on a related subject which you can find here. In addition, we will be releasing new data from our latest round of the Middle East Scholar Barometer which probed the impact of the war in Israel and Gaza on the atmosphere on American campuses, through the eyes of scholars who specialize on the Middle East.
