"A majority of Americans are worried about the Trump administration’s prospects": New Article at Brookings Institution

""

Professor Shibley Telhami published a piece through the Brookings Institution on February 25, 2025 on the latest University of Maryland Critical Issues Poll results. The findings show the gap between worry and hope—17%—about the Trump administration so early in its term could be a sign of trouble ahead. While the large majority of Democrats expressing worry is hardly surprising, the majority of independents and 17% of Republicans expressing worry indicate concern. The article also discusses findings on the American public increasingly feeling the need to be extra careful when publicly criticizing U.S. policy toward the Ukraine-Russia war and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Graph: Most Americans are worried about the prospects of the Trump administration.
